This Native American style hollow form pendant in Sterling silver features a rough face Pyrite in Schist cabochon, which is complimented with patches of 24k gold, fused to the domed, Sterling silver mounting using a Korean technique called Keumboo. A faceted Blue Opal gemstone set in 14k gold is the star of this show, however, so I called the piece “Native Star”. The domed portion of the pendant has been patinated using an old Japanese formula, which provides a durable, rich, deep brown background from which everything just pops.
The pendant is 2″ long, 1.5″ wide and 5/8″ thick. No chain is provided. If you wish to purchase a 18″ Sterling silver Omega Chain (as pictured in one photo) for $30, message me and I can make arrangements to update the listing accordingly then have you pay.
Lapidary artist for the Pyrite in Schist cabochon is Horizon Mineral Co.
Pendant designed and created by Renée Crum.
